You do not have to pay a dental charge:

> to have your dentures repaired (sometimes it’s not possible to repair dentures and a new denture may be required, which you would need to pay for as a Band 3 charge)

> for having stitches out

> if your dentist has to stop bleeding from your mouth

> if your dentist only needs to write a prescription, although if you pay for prescriptions you will still need to pay the usual charge when you collect your medicine from your pharmacist

NHS treatments

We provide a full range of NHS treatments & Private dental care.

The NHS provides all the treatment necessary to secure and maintain your oral health however there are some treatments which are not available under the NHS, This is due to them being either of a cosmetic nature or a Specialist dental treatment, You may choose to have some of your treatments done privately as an alternative to NHS treatment, Please ask your dentist and they will be happy to discuss your options with you.

From 1 April 2016, if you are not in possession of an exemption, you should pay one of the following charges:

Band 1

Course of treatment
£25.80
  • This covers an examination, diagnosis (includingX-rays), advice on how to prevent future problems, a scale and polish if needed, and application of fluoride varnish or fissure sealant.

Band 2

Course of treatment
£70.70
  • This covers everything listed in Band 1 above, plus any further treatment such as fillings,root canalwork or removal of teeth.

Band 3

Course of treatment
£306.80
  • This covers everything listed in Bands 1 and 2 above, plus crowns, dentures and bridges.
